• leadership and delegation course tileWhether we are a leader by position such as a manager or a leader rising to an occasion such as a fundraising team leader, as leaders in today's not-for-profit organizations we are constantly dealing with a fast-paced environment. In such an environment your ultimate success as an effective leader is directly proportionate to the success of those who you lead. To foster the success of your employees/volunteers, focusing on their talent development pays great dividends. In this workshop, we focus on how ethical work delegation can be an effective approach to both, cope with a fast-paced environment as well as to foster role enrichment through sharing responsibilities.

    Designed by Wilson Leung, the Director of the Graduate Leadership Institute at Yeates School of Graduate Studies at Ryerson University, the aim of this workshop is to provide strategizes and tools for leaders of volunteers to be effective leaders and use ethical work delegation for greater team efficiency.

    By participating in the session, participants should be able to;

    - Understand that exemplary leadership goes beyond leadership styles and has more to do with leadership as a practice.

    - Understand the ethical and responsible application of work delegation that helps leaders of volunteers to focus more on the strategic side of leadership.

    - Effectively use delegation as a role enrichment strategy that further develops team talent (staff and volunteers).

    - Effectively use delegation as a work efficiency technique that fosters team productivity.
