Are you a volunteer or interested in volunteering. Then this learning opportunity is specially designed for you. The LGBTQ2S+ community has many skills to offer and contributes to building the capacity of our own communities. However, the reality for members of the LGBTQ2S+ community in Peel region is far more challenging than for us. Every day, they have to consciously make decisions on whether to open out with their LGBTQ2S+ identity or not, due to concerns about their emotional and physical safety.
The "Be an Ally for LGBTQ2S+ Volunteers" learning program is designed to help volunteers of not-for-profit organizations understand what it means to be an ally and how to support LGBTQ+ volunteers who work alongside with them. The foundational principles that the program is built on, are, diversity, inclusion, and belonging through an LGBTQ+ lens.
